Date: 2003-06-24 02:14 pm (UTC)I'm also on birth control pills for PMS, but have to be very careful about the formula. In particular, I can't tolerate triphasic formulas (with a progesterone spike at the end) at all.

Date: 2003-06-25 09:07 am (UTC)Tofu is a good idea, and yes, it's the phytoestrogens in soya that do the trick. On permanent use, it's said to be anti-aging as well.
Anyway, for me, the classical fave chocolate works as PMS thing, on the onset of being post-pms, an essential oil with the botanical name of "salvia sclarea" is right for me. Otherwise, a bergamot/geranium mix might work too, since it's anti-depressive.
Of course, you could always try the classical St.John's Wort. :-)

Date: 2003-07-12 08:51 pm (UTC)I take evening primrose oil capsules (500 mg) to combat PMS. One a day every day, then four a day when I feel the PMS starting til the end of my period. I've had much lessened symptons since I started this a couple of years ago - less bloating, fewer mood swings, lighter cramps.
I hope it's better next month regardless.

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll check it out!
