Made the mistake of getting up as I was having trouble getting to sleep and checking my email. Frankly, this one might work for [livejournal.com profile] seanchaidh's list of stupid comments/questions.

How can anyone in this day and age apparently not know that Arabic is a language spoken by millions all across the Middle East and further afield? To the point that when someone asks for the Arabic for a particular word they suggest that the language they really want is Farsi and imply that only archaic versions of Arabic still remain.

Why worry? Arabic is only spoken by approximately 286 million people and is an official language of 25 countries.

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] przed. Name 10 celebrities that you find attractive and then tag 5 of your friends.

I was surprised to find this is harder than it first appears, or at least it is for me... and I fully expect someone to come back and go 'hey, you're always slobbering over X, why isn't he in there?'.

1. David McCallum (IK! 'Nuff said. Also, still sexy at 70...)

2. John Cusack

3. Alexis Denisof (later seasons of Angel, where Wesley is the angst-monkey)

4. Michael Shanks

5. Sam West (particularly in the Hornblower ep 'The Frogs and the Lobsters', I think it's the snark...)

6. Guy Pearce (though he desperately needs to get some better movies)

7. Nick Lea (mmmm Krycek...)

8. Callum Keith Rennie (not so much in the later stuff, though he's still hot, but definitely as Ray K. Okay, so I'm a freak but you already knew that!)

9. Enrique Murciano (Danny from Without a Trace, in case anyone was wondering)

10. Ewan McGregor. (I haven't seen a lot of his movies but he's utterly shameless and I find that a very attractive quality!)

Following my post last night I can only assume there's something in the water...

Took two of the kids to the vets this morning as they have a slight skin infection - been there before with one of them and antibiotics will clear it right up - and as I'm waiting for the vet to finish his calculations regarding how much antibiotics I need, the woman next to me in the waiting room turns to me, looks at the cat carrier and asks:

"What have you got in there? Gerbils?"

I suppose it's too much to ask that people not display their overwhelming ignorance in public, isn't it?

Yep, thought so!
