Today, I find myself randomly amused by someone posting on a particular forum I frequent who's going 'no, I see character X like this (goes on to state the complete opposite of how everyone else sees him) and I've seen the entire run of episodes and the movie so I win the internet!!!1!!!1!!', though with less frenzied punctuation.

I hope this person does not think that this will make everyone go 'oh, what a fool I've been to believe anything different!', with the wailing and the gnashing of teeth. Reminds me a bit of those people who pop up on slash lists/communities to tell everyone that slash is wrong and Teh Ev0l and apparently think they're heralding the way for a major paradigm shift from the list members, who will as one body turn their back on the bad and icky slash. Uh huh.

Ah, good to know that asshattery is alive and well in fandom. Because it's been at least a couple of hours since someone made a total fool of him- or herself, so I was starting to get a bit concerned.

If you ever need reminding, you need to get over to Fandom Wank. Obviously you're just not hanging out in the right fandoms (or are ignoring stuff going on) anymore?

I have to admit, I pay so little attention to my fandoms (outside of the fic) that I'd have no idea if they all simultaneously imploded. Which is precisely the way I like it, actually; that whole "interacting with other people" idea is seriously overrated.
