It was boring.

I won't say that it was a complete waste of four hours because there were moments of entertainment, but overall, it was one of those shows that could be playing in the background, I'd watch it every now and then to figure out what was going on and get an idea of the story, but that's about it. I might rewatch a rerun, but I wouldn't pay attention to it.

The books are fantastic, with the second one scaring the crap out of me as a teenager.

They're about the main character Ged (not a squeaky clean pseudo-surfer boy) discovering the power inside him and the consequences of mastering that power.
