Is this going to be like the casting of Robert Carlyle in SG 90210, where the Brits go 'yay!' and the non-Brits go'???'.

E.T.A. First new Doctor icon seen less than 25 minutes from the end of Dr Who Confidential, which is not bad for a fandom I'm not in... ;)

Trust me, there has been much mocking. ;)

It was inevitable, though - it was pretty clear the writers always wanted to get away from that pesky Stargate and have a cool ship and fill it with lots of hot twentysomethings who weren't constrained by pesky regulations and could mack on one another and/or have their clothes fall off for no apparent reason.

I notice it will start airing just a few months after the new Star Trek prequel, which should work out well for them. Ah, well, I've made peace with being nobody's target demographic.
