Who on earth invented these four-way stop things? Yes, I am actually mobile in Nova Scotia, driving on the wrong side of the road, and actually it's not too bad so far, other than the afore-mentioned four-ways and a tense moment with a railway crossing when the lights and bells clearly didn't mean what I thought it did (though at least I was over-cautious rather than dismissive, which always seems to me to be the best idea where car v. train is concerned...).

No real aim today other than to get some driving experience, which I duly did, checking out my route to the airport for Thursday and also heading off to the provincial wildlife park and onwards to the other side of the peninsula to look at the ludicrous tides. And the consumption of coffee and bagels and donuts and such like.

Note to parents at the wildlife park: you might want to actively discourage your kidlets from kicking the wire of the enclosure where the skunks live, not to mention from yelling at them. This is not likely to have an effect that pleases anyone. I am apparently in the minority because I thought the skunks were hellishly cute.

Tim Hortons update: walnut crunch (yum, as always), coconut cream (double yum! Though I think [livejournal.com profile] kitt would not approve, as iirc she has issues with donuts that have stuff in them...).

Sorry about the four ways. After driving in New Zealand, I'd be happy if the whole world, or at least my little corner of it, switched over to roundabouts. Once you get used to them, they're awesome.

I've been following your path through the Tim Hortons menu with amusement. You have now officially eaten way more kinds of doughnuts than I have in my life. (I'm loyal to my maple glaze and old fashioned plain.)

And yeah, skunks are kinda cute. Except when they're walking through your backyard and you're trying not to spook them.

I've never understood why people have problems with roundabouts, although I understand that on the European mainland the rule is to give way to people coming onto the roundabout, which seems utterly ludicrous.

I'm kind of wary of some of the glazed products, because although I like donuts, I don't like things which are too sweet (like I suspect is the case with the one they do with the white frosting and sprinkles, which makes my teeth itch just looking at it). In a totally contradictory manner, though, I'm also not keen on the plain ones, as they seem to be too plain. Yes, there is no pleasing me! However, I think there's a reasonable chance I will have sampled the maple glaze before I leave the country. ;)

You gotta try the maple glaze. It's not that sweet. Or at least it's the right kind of sweet, if that makes any sense. I'm with you on the sprinkles. I try one of those about once every ten years, usually because someone brought a box to work and it's the only one left, and it's always a mistake.
