Aug. 27th, 2006 11:50 amI've been using Opera as a browser for ages now, even back in the day when you had to pay for it if you wanted ad-free, and can't see that changing any time soon... I know a bunch of you guys love Firefox but I just can't get into it for a number of reasons:
Opera has this thing where you can just push one button and you can get rid of people's hideous lj headers, or the nasty colours they've made their website.
It also has the function for enlarging or reducing text there on the browser
And feeds. Opera 9 has a built in newsfeed reader than doesn't insist on 'live bookmarks' or whatever it is...
Yes, I'm hooked, how did you guess? ;)

Date: 2006-08-27 07:45 pm (UTC)There's a lot of plugins out there that can block various aspects on webpages too. I haven't explored them much, but I have some that will block ads as well as flash images, unless I unblock it on a site per site basis. Even though I have a higher speed connection now, I still hate having flash animation and video tossed at me when I don't want it.
I'm sure there's some for a newsfeed too, but I've never really used them, so I'm not sure.
One thing I like about Firefox is the customization possibilities. What bugs me on websites might not bother someone else, so I can pick and choose how I want the browser to work.
