graculus: (geek love)

I've been using Opera as a browser for ages now, even back in the day when you had to pay for it if you wanted ad-free, and can't see that changing any time soon... I know a bunch of you guys love Firefox but I just can't get into it for a number of reasons:

  • Opera has this thing where you can just push one button and you can get rid of people's hideous lj headers, or the nasty colours they've made their website.

  • It also has the function for enlarging or reducing text there on the browser

  • And feeds. Opera 9 has a built in newsfeed reader than doesn't insist on 'live bookmarks' or whatever it is...

Yes, I'm hooked, how did you guess? ;)

Ditto here to all of the above! I've seen some nice advantages of Firefox, and I've been tempted, but haven't switched over. And now, thanks to your post, I learn about removing headers from LJ -- how??? It's not so much that I don't want to look at them, but I'm on dial-up. I generally avoid LJs which I know use them.

And now I'm off to download the aquarium widget. :D

In my experience, you should be able to kill most of them by hitting the button for author mode/user mode (usually on the left of where the url is), as user mode will kill most of the multi-image headers people have.

Another one led astray by [livejournal.com profile] katemonkey - she should be getting commission! ;)
