I am afraid of this list. I think I've seen at least 3 episodes of the majority of the shows listed here. Oh dear, that's not really good is it?

Gotta go watch some more TV. Bye for now. ;-)

If the meme was about things I've seen the pilot episode of, that would be another matter altogether... I tend to watch lots of a show or nothing at all, no middle ground.

Also, needs more UK shows. ;)

There are several on my 'melded' version (I compiled several people's lists)

I notice that the bulk of shows I've not seen anything of are either 'classics' which were never inflicted on us (what is this Gomer Pyle of which you speak?) or are modern day shows that bug the crap out of me (words cannot express how much I loathe Will and Grace).

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blktauna we also have the beginnings of a Brit show version (http://blktauna.livejournal.com/166113.html?thread=587745#t587745) which demonstrates the significant difference... ;)

Cool, thanks for that link!

Yeah, you're fortunate in not having seen some of the older shows, I think. Gomer Pyle is... well, I loved it when I was 5, that tells you something. Mostly what I remember about that show is a dirty joke I heard years later. :) I notice on my list that with a few exceptions, most of what I've seen is at least 15 years in the past and often more like 20-30. Yikes!

True. But that will only scare me more, because I watch too much PBS and BBC America and I rent a lot of DVDs from the UK, too.

I really need to get out more....

I may be circulating the Brit tv meme soon, so watch this space... but it's no crime to watch good tv and we can't help it if our tv is better than yours some of the time. ;)

Yay! Somebody else who hates Will and Grace. I cannot abide that show. However, I have seen more than three episodes so I would be forced to bold it if I break down and participate in this meme.

I may be circulating the Brit tv meme soon, so watch this space...

Cool.

On a side note, there's something that's really bugging me about this list. It's wrong to include "The" when alphabetizing. I used to work in a library so that's driving me crazy, because it's triggering my OCD tendencies.

I did this one, too, but I haven't posted it yet.

Sad to say that I've never heard of a lot of these shows, but I think I may have actually seen a lot more than you. *g* I think it's because of the "seen at least three episodes" thing. I've seen at least three episodes of tons of shows, but that doesn't differentiate between those that I watched regularly (but didn't see all episodes) and those that I've seen randomly because I was at someone's house and they were watching it or I saw another episode when I was stuck in a hotel room or even a show that I watched a few episodes and didn't like it, so stopped watching.

How it works: if I don't make it through the pilot, I won't come back to a series, since I have to see it all the way through from season 1 onwards. No second chances, either!

And I think I'm able to subconsciously block the ones that would fit what you're talking about. ;)

However, I must say I haven't seen all of Stargate SG-1, since I refuse to accept the existence of episodes without Daniel in them and have therefore never watched the bulk of season 6...

I grew up in the days where there were no VCRs or anything like that--and no DVDs either. *g* I've watched many episodes of a show like Perry Mason that was on in syndication when I was a kid, but I can't say I've seen them all. I watched it if I happened to be home when it was on.

Even for shows that I really loved, like the original BSG, I couldn't always see all the episodes. It aired on Sunday nights and the local station quite frequently pre-empted it for golf (and that just meant the golf games ran long so they didn't show that episode--ever, except maybe in re-runs), and I also had a babysitting job on Sunday nights, so often had to leave in the middle of an episode. I used to set my audio tape recorder to record the episodes. *g* That didn't work well.

I can't think of any shows from the 60s or 70s that I could claim to have seen in entirety unless I bought the DVDs of the show in more recent times. *g* If I went out for the evening, I missed TV shows and there was no way to ever see those episodes again back then. Sometimes they were shown in reruns, but that was during the summer and who had time for TV during the summer? *g* It was a lot harder to be so attached to a show then than it is now.

That's why I love DVDs, though! It's my nature to watch like you. One reason I won't watch Farscape is because I'm recording it now and I'm not going to start it until I'm sure that I have *all* the episodes so I can watch it from start to finish without a break. *g* OTOH, I have seen three random episodes of it already. SciFi had a marathon of maybe four or five episodes shortly after Ben B. was cast on SG-1. I'd never heard of him, so I recorded the episodes to see what he looked like (beyond the few pics I'd seen online by then). I had no intention of ever watching the show at that time. I just wanted to see Ben B. *g* Now that I've decided to watch it, it has to be all the episodes. *g*

Oh, and I'll watch a random episode of a show that I don't like because I like the guest star. *g*

Yeah, apparently, I'm insane. *g*

And I think I'm able to subconsciously block the ones that would fit what you're talking about. ;)

lol Apparently, I can't do that. *g*

However, I must say I haven't seen all of Stargate SG-1, since I refuse to accept the existence of episodes without Daniel in them and have therefore never watched the bulk of season 6...

When I started watching SG-1, I didn't know about any of that. A friend loaned us season 1 on DVD and I got hooked so I went out and bought all seven seasons on DVD at the same time. I have to admit that I got bored with season 6 so I skipped over it and went right to season 7, but I did watch it later. I'm that obsessive, though I can understand why you didn't want to watch those episodes. If I'd watched the show as it aired, I'm not sure I'd have continued watching much beyond season 3. If I'd had to go week to week and then months-long breaks waiting to see some of the cool stuff that drew me in to seasons 1 & 2, I'd have been bored even in season 3 and probably wouldn't have come back for season 4. Watching the episodes so close together, though, my hope died hard. *g*

It's amazing, things just appear on my computer for me to watch! And then I end up getting hooked (see Boston Legal and Slings and Arrows for two examples) and buying the dvds...

Oh, and I'll watch a random episode of a show that I don't like because I like the guest star. *g*

The list of people I'll do that for is pretty short - however, I must say I suffered through an entire ep of CSI: Miami (which I loathe with the fiery passion of a thousand suns) just to see Michael Shanks in those white trousers. Mmmmm. ;)

My list is getting longer, but yeah, I also watched that episode of CSI:Miami. (I thought it was a horrible show. *g*)

I haven't been able to have TV show episodes "appear" on my computer *g* like that because it just takes too long. The magic spells are too complicated. *g*
