Back from the vets with no clear diagnosis, though it was the same guy as two weeks ago and he was shocked by how much weight she'd lost since he saw her last.

Anyway, theory #1 is that the antibiotics Lily was on for the skin problem caught her at a bad moment and knocked out the balance of bacteria in her gut, allowing some kind of infection or parasite to take hold. So we have now a different lot of medication she doesn't like (having finished the last lot of medication she didn't like this morning) and strict instructions to bring her back Saturday morning if she's not better by then (or indeed before, if necessary).

Did they give you Baytril? Magick got stepped up to Baytril after our last trip. They promised me it was chicken flavored, but it's still 'ass-nasty' if their reaction to it is anything to go by.

I hope things get better soon. I hope whatever she's got isn't giving the boys any difficulty.

My best for you and your girl.

Nope, we're trying Panacur first, to rule out parasites. The vet said she would probably hate the taste of it but it can be mixed with juice if necessary...

And the boys are all fine and healthy, while poor Lily is in solitary confinement!

Aw, poor kiddo.

Does your pharmacy do flavoring for kids' medicines? I was told I could use that the next time we get something unflavored.

In the mean time, Gerber's chicken babyfood. Mix the meds in spoonful and there's no problem. ;) Though, if she's not eating, she may not go for babyfood either... hm...

I just tend to squirt the medicine into the back of the throat and let nature take its course... ;)

I'm not sure whether to say Oh Dear! or Good! to that, but they're treating her, which is good.

Hope she gets better soon.

Poor Lily, poor you, and I know that Panacur because our babies had to have it.

I hope both of you feel better soon.
