One of the pleasures of not being based in the same place as the person who supervises you: I'm working at home today, writing training materials and also finishing up a couple of sections of the procedures I've been working on.

Just as productive (or not) as being in the office and, frankly, it allows me to miss the combined baby shower/leaving do for one of the admin staff whose ever-expanding stomach I've been watching with dread over the past couple of weeks. Particularly since she's been wearing those t-shirts which don't leave much to the imagination on anyone who isn't imminently expecting what looks like half a basketball team.

I don't think the bare midriff and hiphugger look works even on the ultra skinny. It just creates bulges. I don't get it.

A normal length t-shirt not tucked in is my idea of casual. Maybe it's just a personal taste thing, but I don't really want to see anyone's navel. It makes me think of navel lint.

There's one girl where I'm working at the moment has the whole hip-hugger and short shirt thing going on (not the pregnant lass, who's gone now, someone else). Even though she's pretty skinny, the white floppy flesh showing in the gap as she walks away is quite mesmerising. And not in a good way.

OMG, here's a weird coincidence. I was just telling someone last night about the X-files episode of the Simpsons where Scully has Homer on a treadmill and either she or Mulder comment that the jiggling fat is "mermesizing". "Yes, it's like a lava lamp."

But yeah, that's just it. It creates bulges even on people who hardly have enough flesh to bulge anywhere. I just don't get this fashion trend.
