One of the pleasures of not being based in the same place as the person who supervises you: I'm working at home today, writing training materials and also finishing up a couple of sections of the procedures I've been working on.

Just as productive (or not) as being in the office and, frankly, it allows me to miss the combined baby shower/leaving do for one of the admin staff whose ever-expanding stomach I've been watching with dread over the past couple of weeks. Particularly since she's been wearing those t-shirts which don't leave much to the imagination on anyone who isn't imminently expecting what looks like half a basketball team.

My friend who is a headteacher told a young member of staff that a bare midriff was less than appropriate in school, especially considering the 100% Muslim pupil intake. She was taken to task by the union for 'discriminating against a larger than normal young woman' - who 'found it hard to get T shirts that would tuck in'! - NOT the union I'm an officer in, I hasten to add. They also said they bet she wqouldn't say anything to the Indian girls who bared their midriffs. As she in fact HAD complained to these same girls, this was pretty ironic. I agree - casual is fine, but revealing is for your own time!
