On the evilness of Amazon wishlists...
Jun. 18th, 2005 11:23 pmOkay, so maybe that's a slight exaggeration, except that those of us with little-to-no willpower where shiny things are concerned probably shouldn't be allowed free access to sites like Amazon and Ebay.
Even when we know we will hopefully be moving house at some point in the (hopefully) near future, said websites should help us in our ongoing struggle to resist the buying of more books, cds and dvds which will only require packing along with the rest of the stuff. They really should.
BTW, I read this story and was a little boggled - anyone else around here have just the number of albums etc. quoted? That would be 178 if you're a man, 135 if you're a woman. Personally I have that in just cds, without taking into account the vinyl and the couple of boxes of cassettes I have lurking around the house, and would probably have more if I didn't have a clear out every so often...
Meanwhile, my criminal records check came back today, so that's another hurdle in my quest to new employment overcome. Considering that a goodly number of people I work with are either working their notice or are seriously thinking about giving in their notice, it's nice to be the one who's going in a proactive manner, because I'm going to something and not just running from the current situation.

Date: 2005-06-19 10:29 am (UTC)Yep, I use the wishlist for that as well, not to mention to remember to buy stuff when it becomes available - the only problem being that I have 66 things on there so far and it seems as though every time I buy one thing, three more things get on there.

It's not that the rest of the music and books are elsewhere, they just aren't. I wibble in fear at the suggestion that I cut down my music or book collection.
Okay, maybe 400 albums on CD, another 50 on tape and only around 20 on record.
