Okay, so maybe that's a slight exaggeration, except that those of us with little-to-no willpower where shiny things are concerned probably shouldn't be allowed free access to sites like Amazon and Ebay.

Even when we know we will hopefully be moving house at some point in the (hopefully) near future, said websites should help us in our ongoing struggle to resist the buying of more books, cds and dvds which will only require packing along with the rest of the stuff. They really should.

BTW, I read this story and was a little boggled - anyone else around here have just the number of albums etc. quoted? That would be 178 if you're a man, 135 if you're a woman. Personally I have that in just cds, without taking into account the vinyl and the couple of boxes of cassettes I have lurking around the house, and would probably have more if I didn't have a clear out every so often...

Meanwhile, my criminal records check came back today, so that's another hurdle in my quest to new employment overcome. Considering that a goodly number of people I work with are either working their notice or are seriously thinking about giving in their notice, it's nice to be the one who's going in a proactive manner, because I'm going to something and not just running from the current situation.

LOL I own a lot more CDs then 138 as you well know ;-)

And yes the internet is one huge wormhole for my pocketbook... Did I mention I finally broke down and bought a hard disk MP3 player? One that can hold 20GB of music and vids?

It's shiny, it's pretty, it's mine!

At least mine aren't alphabetised! :P

And I knew you'd succumb eventually. I can't imagine how I got along without my gizmo, particularly when I have to spend a long time driving places (like I'm going to be doing soon, for a bit anyway) - so much more convenient than cds.

My 7" singles are still in something vaguely resembling alphabetical order - okay I haven't played one of them in years but they're still in order in the cupboard.

Can't remember what order the LPs and 12" singles are in - too hot to excavate the stuff from in front of the cupboard they're stored in to have a look.

Never felt the need to put the CDs in alphabetical order - they're grouped together by type of music or origin: classical, ABBA (and related artists), Eurovision Song Contest entries, British acts, film soundtracks etc.
