UK release date for Howl's Moving Castle - 30th September 2005. Oops. Sounds like I might be bunking off from the first night of [livejournal.com profile] connotations unless I can land tickets for an advance screening the night before. ;)

Meanwhile, just 6 more weeks till Kung Fu Hustle airs in the UK (June 10th).

E.T.A. The main fan-run Miyazaki site says September 1st, as does the BBFC, so there might not be a clash after all! :)

Pssst, [livejournal.com profile] blktauna, I know, death before Disney but... nope, can't do it.

Whee! I hope the Sept 1 date is right, because Claire's gonna be pissed if I scram on her birthday *g*

See, I *knew* I wasn't the only saddo who's been waiting for this movie to come out over here for what seems like forever... ;)

And if the BBFC are saying September 1st, I'd think that was more likely to be accurate than IMDb. Also sooner, which is even better!

Do you mean nausicca.net?

Hmm, I need to check there on the US release date. I really want to take my kids to it! (okay, okay, *I* really want to take myself to see it)

Yep, Nausicaa.net says June 10th for the US, and since their date for the UK coincides with what the British Board for Film Classification say, I'm inclined to think they're correct. ;)

June 10th?

Just insert the squee here.

It's not really Disney, it's Pixar doing the grunt work. They deserve people loving their work. Besides, Miramax isn't around to screw up the release of Kung Fu Hustle.

The only downside is the fact that the big screen release of Howl is going to be dubbed, not subtitled, not that this will stop me buying the dvd so I get the original (it'd better be on there!).

And I definitely would rather spork Miramax, as well as believing that the sooner Pixar have nothing whatsoever to do with Disney the better. Bah.

I'm sure the orginal voice cast will be on there, Disney learned that lesson from Princess Mononoke. On the upside for the English voice cast, Lauren Bacall is going to be the Witch of the Waste.

And Jean Simmons as old!Sophie, which is perfect voice casting imo. :)
