Ack!

I'm remembering now why I dislike decorating. ;)

Anyway, the main bedroom is done, the littlest bedroom-come-office is done (all bar painting the window because the cracked glass needs replacing), and the middle bedroom is partly done. So far I've laid two carpets and spread more emulsion about than I care to think about.

The to-do list is getting smaller. Really.

Meanwhile, in other news - am I the only one who's been looking at those 'ten things I've done and you haven't' meme responses and thinking 'and what a lucky escape for me!' about most of them? :P

I need to paint. I need new carpet. I want new cabinets.

I need to win the lottery.

So say we all. ;)

Well, the carpets so far come in at £75 for the two rooms (god bless small houses and room-size remnants) and it's amazing what a difference having white woodwork rather than grubby yellowed woodwork makes.

I've got this small area of hardwood flooring. I've never had hardwood before so I have no idea how to take care of it. I've never wanted hardwood floors. I may just carpet over it when I get new carpeting someday after I win the lottery.

Oh, come on. If life didn't suck, lj would be so dull ;-)

I was mostly thinking of the things that people are apparently pleased to have done, rather than experiences that suck... most of them are way too public for my liking!

Ah. Well, I'm totally with you there!

One person's TMI is another person's must-tell-everyone, so it's always tricky to judge.

And as for the decorating, well it's mostly motivated by the possibility of selling the house soon, so it might not be ages before I have to do more. :(

With the 10 things meme, I think I'm more depressed that there aren't 10 things I've done that others probably haven't <g>

Ack! Curse my somewhat sheltered early childhood!

I was more amused by this (http://www.livejournal.com/users/somniesperus/194445.html) version of it, that appeared on my friendslist. ;)

BWAHAHAHA!! That's brilliant! Naked through monks...bet that's the most action any of them have ever gotten.

Yes. :)

Okay, no, I'm very glad that no one chased me through the woods with the recently removed head of a deer when I was a teen. And there were a couple of medical things, etc., that... yeah, no thanks. But otherwise, no. Maybe my friendslist is more positive than yours. ;) Or maybe I'm just less reserved than you. ;)

Yep, I spotted the deer head one as well and thought myself lucky. ;)

Less reserved? Maybe so. The British stiff upper lip, don't you know?

I've only seen a couple, and I'm having trouble coming up with ten things I've done that someone else hasn't. I'm having trouble coming up with *one* thing. Is the "someone else" limited at all, or does it include everyone who ever lived?

I think it's supposed to be something that most people won't have done, rather than something nobody else in the entire recorded history of mankind would have done ever under any circumstances...

Well, that makes it a little easier. I'll have to think about it.

Yeah, I knew for a fact other people on my friendslist had submitted short fiction to magazines. At least two.

I hadn't even considered the writing aspect - lots of people have done that.

Hmm, still thinking. I've come up with maybe four or five.

Well, yes, lots of people on my friendslist are writers. But not all of them submit original fiction to magazines. Three of them have sent out novels for possible publication (at least), and two of them have sent out short fiction (at least).

OTOH, my alternatives were verging into TMI, so... ;)

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid TMI *g*

Okay, I'll give it a go.

There are other people I'd be *much* more jealous of you kissing. ;)
