Yes, it's that time when people in fandom start to act like asshats more than usual, when you just want to say things like "fcol, get that stick out of your arse before you hurt yourself!" or "who died and made you queen of fandom?".

It must be some kind of celestial phenomenon, some odd conjunction that creates more asshattery than usual, since I've seen two sterling examples in the last three days, one here in a livejournal community I'm a member of and the other on a single-fandom mailing list.

Or maybe my tolerance level is just low this time of year...

The other one can be paraphrased as someone asking for the best moments to use for a pimping tape in said fandom, which gains the paraphrased response: 'you call it 'pimping'? I would not stoop to such terms or behaviour because I only want people in my fandom who like the show...'

Erm, hello? Been out of your tiny niche of fandom much, Ms Elitist? Doesn't that stick chafe? :P
