Meanwhile anyone who says that mp3's mean you don't end up buying albums hasn't seen the 7 cds I just ordered... I foresee the next gadget for this gadget girl is going to be an mp3 player (so if anyone wants to rec me one, please feel free!).

I know!!!! Total crap...
When napster was running I hear all sorts of things I'd have NEVER spent money on and tons that I did!!! See I'm an "if in doubt pass..." sort of person on music. Too expensive for the 1 song on the cd you do like vs the crap that lots of stuff turns out to be...

and oh the amount of new artists I found and like now... the anti napster crowd are idiots...

It's worse here, since most cd's are £10+ ($15 give or take) unless they're on sale and like you I begrudge paying that kind of money for one track I like.

The last album I bought on the basis of one track was Maroon 5 (which I played to death for about 3 months before they were everywhere on the radio and I got bored with them), so I was lucky that time, but there's no guarantees.

Music recs communities are evil, though... ;)
