It's a drabble. 100 words. How on *earth* is it possible to have spelling mistakes in 50% of the sentences?

*headdesk*

...a lot lately, which is why, though normally I lurk, I thought I'd two-cents it here (Ack! I just verbed something. *g*). I'm one of those who can not read a story with more than very occasional grammatical or spelling errors. I've heard people say the plot or concept, sometimes, keeps them reading in spite of the author's lack of writing skills. Personally, I've never found a grammatically bad story to have anything remotely resembling an irresistible plot. Probably just me.
And that's by no means a slam on writers whose English skills aren't very good. Write away, by all means. You don't get better otherwise, and we're all always learning.
I just can't read it.
Tuppence spent.

It would take an incredibly good plot to make me do more than immediately click the close button on the first spelling or grammar error I found. Okay, maybe not the *first* spelling error because I can forgive overlooking something (homonyms particularly).

Ditto with continuity and factual errors. I'm easily bounced out of stories.

Me too. Or should that be 'me two'? ;)

For some reason, I'm a lot more upset by punctuation errors. I guess I figure severely dyslexic people might misspell often, but there's not much excuse for:

Try it its "real" good!

An actual sign at the grocery store. Ow! Now all they need is a "Thank's!" at the bottom and my head will explode. ;)
