It all started with 'The Big Lebowski'.

I love that film, with all its odd bowling metaphors and miscast ferrets-masquerading-as-marmosets, and the Dude in all his cheesy glory. I have no idea how many times I've watched it, but it amuses and entertains me every time.

Anyway, I went to watch it the other day and the damn tape wouldn't play. So, by default, I have finally succumbed and bought a dvd player. Me with more tapes than I can shake a stick at, but then those are mostly things that aren't out on dvd yet because the studios would rather release every single episode of Ally McBeal than stuff that actually engages the brain cells.

So, looking for suggestions for my dvd shopping list, okay?

Big Lebowski is #1 on the list (well, #2 after my desperate need for a scart lead and some kind of switching box so I can enable all my technology to cooperate), but other possibilities are welcome.

(And no, I have no plans to buy SG on dvd at present - I have all 5 seasons on tape, since I refute utterly the existence of season sux, and that's enough for me).

Well, a good place to browse (since they have free delivery) is 247.com. And if there's one available with German sleeves but not UK and you want it, gimme a holler, since I have a good German mailorder equivalent of it. (Although I still have to find such an occurrence...)

Oh, and I suppose you have a Region 2 limited player?

As for that whats... preference on any particular genre? Since I first would suggest the classics: Jeffrey, Queer as Folk and the likes. They also finally release the first Babylon5 dvd set this month with loads of extras...

Well I cheerfully nominate:

Galaxy Quest
Curry & Pepper - hong kong slash fest o rama
Tricky Brains - hong kong craziness
Lion in Winter
The Avengers sets
Jay and Silent Bob Strike back

I'd say the Professionals but I KNOW how you feel about them ;)

Hmm.. people get restraining orders against them for that sort of thing, you know? *g*

Now all I have to do is find somewhere that stocks the dvd in question...
