Working at home today because I had a hospital appointment first thing and I have stuff due in today which otherwise won't get done. Back before Christmas, I admitted to myself that I must have the word 'Mug' tattooed on my forehead since I'd agreed to help manage one of the teams based where I'm located while they were in between permanent managers - we've appointed someone, fortunately someone internal so that should speed things up but HR have been buggering around and she hasn't got a start date yet.

In other news, when I went to the local shops yesterday from work I nearly stepped on someone's Yorkie. I swear, even with its bright Barbie pink coat on, it was smaller than one of my ferrets. Particularly Woody, who has piled on the pounds over the winter and is now quite portly. To his eternal unhappiness, I keep prodding the fat stomach just to check there's no lumps in there that shouldn't be, but I think it's just that he's a lardass. ;)

What was your first clue? ;)

It still boggles people's minds that I am more than capable of doing the job and have no concerns about that (as apparently neither does my boss) but really haven't particularly wanted to because of the bureaucratic crap that accompanies it, more than anything else. It's one of those things where, as with most situations, if you know what you're doing it's actually not that hard...

No Idea! ;-)

True it's not that hard but the bureaucracy and what the people side of it can be annoying and sometimes even stressful.

I could deal with the bureaucracy but the people thing? Not so much ;-)

The people thing is not so bad except when they do dumb stuff or, like the other day, are incapable of approaching a situation from anything other than head-on and wonder why I just go 'oh, but you could do this' and come up with a solution for them in 10 seconds. ;)

LOL

You are better with people then I am. I just get frustrated and sigh a lot or take over ;-)

I have to restrain myself from taking over, because some of the time I know I can do whatever it is they're doing, twice as well in half the time, but how else will they learn? ;)
