Especially for (iirc) [livejournal.com profile] gumbie_cat and [livejournal.com profile] the4ts, and anyone else who might have missed them previously - the Scottish Falsetto Sockpuppet Theatre versions of Torchwood, Primeval and Life on Mars.

Also, for those people who want to know kind of things we were up to on Saturday night at [livejournal.com profile] connotations:

Rocket Man [worksafe, but oh my so very odd...]

Hurt [not worksafe]

E.T.A. Tonight sees Stephen Fry's appearance on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and on Sunday it's the UK premiere of Megasnake! \o/

Megasnake - now, I wonder what that's about, and is it as bad as it sounds?

Oh, the Shat!

Damn those film makers and their subtle titling... Anyone would think it was a movie about giant snakes or something! ;)

I think that "Hurt" link is the wrongest thing I've ever seen.

Hiya, sorry, totally unrelated to your post but I think you're the person to ask - Dylan (a fried) wants to get a laptop and he wants to install Ubuntu on it. But he's getting the runaround from the tech people when he's ringing to ask them whether, if he purchases the tech support thing, they'll still deal with it. The general answer appears to be 'no' because 'they aren't trained on it'. So I wanted to ask - where did you get your laptop from and did you get tech support with it (and if so, are they OK with Ubuntu?!).

My laptop is a Dell - they started selling two models of laptop and a desktop (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/emea/segments/gen/client/en/ubuntu_landing?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs) with Ubuntu already installed on it, so I would assume they also do tech support given that they're selling stuff with that OS on. So far I haven't had to try and find out!

Excellent, thanks. I'll point Dylan to the link and he can decide! It's cool Dell are selling it with pre-installed isn't it?!
