Oh, Rusty you absolute fucker!

Yes, I have seen the season finale and all I can say is how much I hate what they Rusty did in that episode in two ways: first off, the whole 'oh Rose, let's spend our lives making almost-Timelord babies!!!11!!!' shipper pandering, and then with what he did to Donna.

Like other people on my friendslist, I never expected to feel anything for Donna because of how much she bugged the crap out of me in the Christmas special (all that shouting!) but she came so far in this season and now it's all for nothing. Dying would have been less cruel.

Rose - bleurghh! I've frequently wanted to shove her through a time rift. Tonight's episode did little to change that view. Hopefully she really is gone for good, this time.

As for Donna - yep, that is beyond cruel.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the point of Rose being in those episodes was, since there was nothing she did that someone else couldn't have done (other than the part-Timelord babeez, of course!). I wouldn't have been at all worried, in fact I would have been overjoyed, if she'd been the one who got the mindwipe Donna didn't deserve.

I like Donna, I'm very afraid of what will/has happen/ed to her in this ep. Apparently Rose is the be all and end all with a bag of chips and Martha and especially Donna are... warm bodies?

Rose has always been the be-all and end-all where RTD is concerned. Martha has turned into DrMarySueCanDoAnything. Donna in particular deserved much better than she got this time around.

Rose still wanted to run after Gallifreyan!Doctor; I can see that soon-to-be marriage with Human!Doctor is bound to fail. He'd always be second best to her.

It's just like SG-1, in the whole 'let's throw a bone to the shippers which is a bit like what they want but not the whole thing'... Meh.

I really admire RTD's ability to be cruel to characters. I'm not sure I could've done that to Donna if I'd been writing.

This coming from the woman who created The Administration? ;)

:-) But this would be like finishing the series off with a story where Toreth gets mind-fucked and forgets even meeting Warrick.

Hmm...

Hey, no. Seriously. I'd be hunted down with pitchforks and torches for even putting the idea within a few miles of your brain...
