Obviously my subconscious is dealing with the fact I'm off on a trip soon, as I woke up this morning in the middle of a dream about packing - extraneous things kept turning up in my suitcase and had to be removed in order that I could pack. And there was also something about the people at check-in going for lunch and taking their computers with them...

E.T.A. - Is it wrong of me to buy a book as a present for someone and then read it myself before they get it? I figure as long as I don't break the spine (it's a paperback) then it's not a problem.

I find myself with those types of dreams! I always dream that something goes wrong and it's usually along the lines of the suitcase thing. It's always silly things like switching a light off and locking the door only to find someone has forgotten something and I have to repeat the light and door locking over and over and end up missing the appointment/flight etc. The subconscious is a strange and oddly troubling place :)

Hmmm, IMO it is quite hard to read a paperback - even without cracking the spine - without it being fairly obvious that it's had a good thumbing beforehand! They tend to lose that virgin paperback page smell.

Or maybe that's just more apparent to me because I have to read the dratted things with my nose half an inch off the page...?

If you read it like me (insanely careful not to break the spine) absolutely not!

Good luck with the packing dreams. And see ya soon!

LOL!

I've been having dreams about forgetting important things like picking you up or filling up the car...

Since most books I know don't have the words erased after someone has read them then I don't see the problem ;-)
