Buying a new curtain rail in Wilko's (for anyone who's outside the UK, Wilko's is the Store That Sells Everything, Guaranteed), I was shocked, nay horrified to see creme eggs and such like on sale! WTF, people!

Speaking of stores (hey, nice segue...) I was watching Hot Fuzz again today - I blame Yuletide - and wondering whether people not-in-the-UK realise that not only is the supermarket they shoot up a real supermarket, Somerfield is actually a real supermarket chain?

I knew it was a real supermarket, but only because I watched the commentary. I didn't know Somerfield was a real market though.

Yep, Somerfield is a real chain of supermarkets. Somehow I'm struggling to imagine Meijers or someone letting people do something similar in one of their stores...

And I'm with you on the wtf-ery.

In the spirit of TMI, I have to say I have Issues with creme eggs that probably date back to the time when a) they were bigger (really, they were half as big again as they are now when I was younger!), and b) I ate one that was out of date and discovered that the inside bit goes all crystalline when it's too old... meh.
