Dear Royal Mail,

If you're going to try and dun someone for £12 customs charges for importing a Heroes season 1 boxset from the US, you may find you are more successful in doing so if you withold said package, rather than delivering it with a big sticker on it that says in red type 'this package will not be delivered until the charges are paid'.

I see a flaw in your otherwise-cunning plan.

Hee! Do you think this is a new phase in the postal strikes? They don't deliver anything except the packages for which they're supposed to collect customs charges.

It could be a bizarre form of postal passive resistance... they're meant to collect money, which goes back to the management, therefore they just shove the packages through without doing so?

It's possible. The Post Offices charges some ridiculous amount of money for collecting the duty.
