The more things change...
Sep. 15th, 2007 01:00 pmI don't go to the doctor very often, in fact I'm not sure I've been this year. So when about a week or so ago my hands started hurting, I did my usual which is to wait and see if it sorts itself out of its own accord and when it didn't, I thought I should make an appointment to see the quack. I have my suspicions about what the aching, numbness and pins and needles feelings mean but I guess I should get a professional opinion to back it up and hopefully some nice medication. It's probably too much to ask that he'll sign me off work, isn't it? ;)
It was then I discovered that neither of the two phone numbers I had for my GP worked. After some investigation online, I discovered that my GP had moved to a new health centre in February, a minor fact of which I as someone registered with the surgery had never been informed. I can only assume they decided that they wouldn't bother to tell the people who don't get sick very often because they wouldn't ever need to phone and make an appointment, or some such similar PCT-logic. And anyone who's dealt with a PCT (primary care trust, who run health services in a particular area, for those outside the UK) knows that PCT-logic is not like our earth logic.
In other news, I just walked up to the local shops to get ferret food and on the pavement there was a whole battered saveloy sausage, just lying there. Bizarre.
As for those weasels, it continues to be Dougal who is nemesis!weasel of the first degree. It's mostly in play, as it was with the girls, but one of the new lads (Woody) is a terrible wuss. They're still not all in together, mostly because of Dougal...

Date: 2007-09-15 01:43 pm (UTC)Anyway, I'm not sure exact;y what a saveloy sausage is, but it sounds like something you could have given *to* the ferrets if no one else wanted it. :) Because ferrets with new things are fun. :) (Two of mine are currently being blanket sharks... under the blankets I'm currently using.)
Good luck with Woody. Hopefully he'll get sick of getting picked on soon and get his own back.
