Master and Commander

Well, that's another dvd to go on pre-order. ;)

What a great film. And I'm sure I'm not the only one to think that Paul Bettany looks very much like Anthony Starke in some shots - perhaps it's the reddish-brown hair, I don't know...

Excellent performances by the supporting cast as well, and it's been long enough since I actually read that book that I couldn't remember the plot line. Since there really isn't anything much from Master and Commander at all, bar the name, as far as I could tell.

Paul Bettany... Pretty. Well, not in that movie, but in other places, yes.

*shrugs* He's okay. I thought they did a nice job of uglying up all the post-pubescent actors in keeping with the nature of the job at hand.

I remember thinking how amazing it was anyone actually survived battles at sea, let alone dealing with storms like the one in the movie, but human kind is very resilient...
