graculusJust four more days at work, due to this weekend's lovely bank holiday, and then I have three weeks off work. Three weeks. Imagine that. :)
Speaking of work, not only did Eeyore leave this week (and I did successfully avoid her in the meantime, though I expect she's left a pile of crap in her wake), the annoying guy I had a run-in with back in March has also been summarily kicked out. As in, one complaint too far, I think... Which is extremely good because he was making the entire office uncomfortable, as far as I could tell from when I passed through that way.
In other, more entertaining news, I'm pleased to announce that details about my SG-1 novel (which is called Benedictus and is about 84,000 words) should be appearing this weekend on the Ashton Press website, prior to it going on sale at MediaWest in a couple of weeks. I'll link to it when they're up, because the lovely cover just deserves to be admired.
I'm dealing with niggly final edits today, including the fact that I was consistently spelling one of the supporting character's names wrong, and a minor wrangle over the fact that while everyone thinks the phrase is 'just desserts' (as in cake), it's actually 'just deserts' (as in large amounts of sand). Seriously, check it out if you don't believe me.
Also, the thing more likely to cause difficulties for a small (I hope) segment of the fandom is that both Jack and Daniel are not just gay for each other, have no compunction about the fact they've both had sex with other guys before they (J & D) have sex rather than keeping their backdoor virginity for one another, but there's also no exchange of vows of undying love and foreverness (and absolutely no beagles). In fact, it's pretty much 'hey, we get on great and the sex is really hot, so let's just go on as we are, shall we?' I suspect that all of these factors will not go down well with some... shame. ;)
