You just know that he expected the police to drop everything, come round to his house, check his roof for loose tiles, etc., and reassure him that yes, there was an earthquake, and that he's alright. Poor chap is too dense to be able to tell for himself, it would seem.
I have to admit that I rang the police myself... on account of worrying that (a) it was a gas explosion, or (b) I'd gone bananas. It wasn't a long conversation.
Me: Erm... sorry to trouble you, but I think... Did we just have an, erm, sort of earthquake in Kenilworth?
Him (bored, unsurprisingly, as it'd taken me a few minutes to get through...): Yes Ma'am, we understand that there has been some sort of local tremor.
Me: Erp. OK. Sorry about that. I'll leave you to it, then.
Him (really bored now): *Thank* you.
I wasn't planning on suing him for not offering to come round and kiss it all better, mind you. Missed a trick, obviously. Still, we all know that the BBC is an asshat magnet for the green ink brigade.
Oh... Grac, is an early Saturday in October any good for you? Contingent on the rain-of-blood-and-toads forecasts for the month ahead, naturally.

The green ink brigade lives!
Still shagged out after debauching the RSPCA guy? *eg*

Assuming neither of us falls into an earthquake-induced hole in the meantime.
I thought you were too busy associating with your fellow Harper obsessives to bother with the likes of us.. *sniff*
