Things that make you go 'grrrrr'...
Nov. 23rd, 2003 02:05 pmYep, it's snarl time again. This month I have four things to complain about:
1. People who post to a list and then promptly begin to complain that there just isn't enough fic for them to read in that fandom. Like everyone somehow *owes* them fic, or is just not posting to spite them, or something. Morons.
2. People who post lengthy multi-part stories to automated archives. Particularly if those parts are approximately 6kb in length and barely represent a chapter. Post the damn thing as a whole! Delayed gratification is your friend!
3. People whose opinion is 'but if you're a fan of the show you should be loyal and say nice things about every episode even if it sucks'. No. That's not how it works in the real world, dearie. If something is good, then say nice things - if something sucks, then honesty is still the best policy.
4. Getting feedback (about your story concerning Y) that essentially says 'had you considered a sequel where [insert fanfic cliche] happens?'. No, because if I'd wanted to write about that particular cliche occurring, oddly enough I would have written about that - the very fact that I wrote about Something Else Altogether might be a hint that I didn't want to write about that. Feel free to write about that cliche yourself, however *I* don't feel inclined to.
Some days...

Date: 2003-11-23 12:10 pm (UTC)"I WAS NOT COMPLAINING THAT I WASN'T BEING ENTERTAINED, I WAS SIGHING THAT PEOPLE WERE REHASHING THE SAME ARGUMENT. LIKE NOW.
I AM NOT APOLOGING FOR MY STATEMENT. YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT ON YOUR OWN."
Whatever. Dumbass.

Date: 2003-11-23 06:56 pm (UTC)And on a completely different note... :g: Am starting on your MS3 fic this week and wanted to make sure you're okay with receiving it back in Word rather than Notepad? I always do a bit of formatting for the zine when I first start editing.

Date: 2003-11-24 11:20 am (UTC)As for the other thing, I'd prefer .rtf format, since my cantankerous computer can't cope with anything else.

Date: 2003-11-24 12:29 pm (UTC)I'm afraid that the only one that really made me blink was the one where someone suggested I write a sequel to "Parallax" where Sara gets hit by a bus. Well, and someone asked me if I would write her mpreg. Only if it's slapstick! ;) (Jack: "Jesus, what did you eat? You smell like feet! You go gargle before you come over here or I'm going to puke!")
