Dear manager,

Emailing me at 3pm on Friday afternoon, asking if I can scrap everything that's already in my diary for Monday to go and spend what is likely to be all day sorting out something for you which should have been organised days ago at least is unlikely to gain the response you wish to receive.

No love,
Me

Meanwhile, my Saturday is so exciting! The main tasks being to take my library books back (well, some of them, since the library here insists you take books back to the branch where you got them out, and the rest are from the main library I only go to on a Friday night when they're open till 7pm and I can actually park around there without paying) and buying ferret food. I'm a little puzzled by why my local library has some books duplicated in hardback and in paperback, though I prefer hardback if I have the choice - they just feel more like a proper book that way.

Anyway, three more books for my book blog, though it's likely the next post there is going to be about how much I love James Lee Burke and pretty much that'll be it. I'm currently midway through Crusader's Cross, with the knowledge that there's another one in the series already out (Pegasus Descending) and the next is due this July. I've been waiting for Burke, who writes about New Orleans and the surrounding areas, to get around to writing a post-Katrina story and The Tin Roof Blowout is just that.

Yes, I am a bookworm, why do you ask? ;)
