...was me discovering that something had gone wrong and I now had 1700 words or so of assignment for which I couldn't get the file to open. Wah!

So I've had to reconstruct the damn thing, scratting about for all the bits of paper with notes on them that (like a good packrat) I have kept. But I took a couple of the books in question back to the university library on Friday. *sigh*

Thanks, hon. Fortunately I'd kept most of what I was using so it was a case of reconstructing it all. I'm up to about 2,500 words now (not including bibliography) so I'm back on top again. Annoying, though.

I think it's more a 'floppy disk at the end of its natural life' kind of problem, since all the files that were on it are acting the same.

Getting there... that's 2,500 minus bibliography, so I need about another 2,000 words and I'm done. :)
