graculus: (oh please)

Having moved my computer downstairs the new HomeHub thing then decided that even 6 feet was too far to successfully broadcast a signal across - clearly the brief period when it did work was an utter fluke - and so I have now resorted to the ethernet cable. Which is great because it's apparently giving me 6Mb, but may spoil me utterly for ever going back to wireless when I get around to buying another router.

In other news, there is the reorganisation. Can I just say that while I've revelled at times in being a team of one, particularly since it lets me out of tedious team meetings at ungodly hours, the downside of it is that when they draw up plans for reorganisation it's very easy for a post like that to drop off the map. As mine has. Hmmmph. Anyway, I'm already due to be meeting with one of the senior managers on Friday and who knows what bollocks she is going to come out with. Not that I think I'm really for the chop, but who knows what asshattery can happen?

I've also given up on the concept of moving house, even though it vexes me to get up before the sun rises and get home long after it's set, but that's a winter problem in general. Frankly, I hate moving house - there was a three year period where I moved annually and I loathed the experience every single time and vowed not to do it again for as long as possible - and while I hate the commute, I hate packing up and moving (not to mention the idiocy involved in actually selling the house) even more. Plus within walking distance from my current house I have a convenience store, a library, a pizza place, a chip shop, a shop that sells ferret food and a bus stop to town. Within 5 minutes drive I have a 24-hour Asda and a post office and another library. I'm currently of the opinion that if I cannot replicate this set-up to some significant extent, I don't want to play. ;)

Lastly, is tonight's SG-1 a Daniel-free episode? Because if it is then I'll just rewind the tape...

I'm 90% sure it is. But you may be interested in next week's, if the order is what I think it is. :)

Remember the fandom explosion you told me SGA would have? Well, it was today. Some reactions are a mix between the ones D&C and Meridian provoked. It has really weirded me out...

Deja vu all over again?

Oh, and Mallozzi needs to keep his mouth shut, but again that's nothing new... ;)

All over. Ugh. I'm glad it's not new to me, but I ended up conforting a poor Carson fan. She sounded like us when Meridian aired.

Oh, and you are going to adore this. They made a "Mallozzi homage" in the episode in question. Someone mentioned "Dr. Mallozzi and his huge Anime DVD collection". Really.

They have no shame.

Have they actually killed Carson off, then?

And as for Mallozzi, that must have been a typo in the script - it should be "Dr Mallozzi and his huge ego". ;)

He was caught in an explosion. Dead like dead.

There is a dream-like scene in the end, with Carson and Rodney where they say goodbye, and Rodney says maybe I'll see you again, the universe is big (deja vu!), but... it felt like death.

The explosion thing was a bit silly (exploding tumors. Really), but in the episode there was some nice character stuff. And also things that will piss off many different people, which is very typical of Stargate PTB.

Still, as far as "let's go kill someone" is a way better episode than Meridian (where they dared introduce Jonas and the rest was so painful) or Heroes (where they were stupid enough to think we'd buy Jack was dead and in the end it wasn't about Janet). This one was better built, and very satisfying, except for the part that next week they will forget Carson is dead, that is.

Ah reorganisations, gotta love them. I don't fit into any obvious team at work either what with being the only person that does my job. However, with 20+ years of experience to my name you'd think the management would think twice before sticking my name on the edge of the new shiny organisational chart on the same horizontal line as the office junior.

By the time I'd finished informing management as to the various orifices into which they could stick their office organisation, I think they were convinced that the next reorganisation should take place in approximately 3010.
