Back from the con...

You know, it's funny just how many people's first question at connotations this weekend was: "How's Lily?" And the short version of the answer is that Lily is apparently fine, though she's still sleeping alone since the boys are thugs and one of them in particular (Obi) decided it would be a good idea to pin her down and make her squeak last night. However, she seems to be healing up fine and is off to the vet (for what will hopefully be her final check-up) on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, talking of the con, I had an excellent time. It's always entertaining to see people who I haven't seen since the last con (or longer, in the case of blktauna)and just pick up where we left off.

I did two panels, one on fanfic cliches (which I haven't written up yet, though I will probably get around to it at some point) and the other was the follow-up to last year's badfic panel - that one is here. I guess the only thing to say about both panels is that they appeared to create some of the watchwords for the weekend, 'alien assbabies' and 'cocksnot' respectively, both of which I would occasionally overhear from conversations as I was passing a group of people.

I also got co-opted to assist with one of the fandom pimping entries, since temaris had seen approximately half an episode of Boston Legal, but had a ready-made pimping tape, and I've seen all of them so I could blather. And we beat moonlettuce and her newfound Gibbs/DiNozzo love (despite the stickfigure pr0n) but it was a close-run thing. However, we would have won by two votes if I hadn't been swayed by the offer of chocolate to vote for Holmes/Watson... ;)

Anyway, these next few days I must get a start on trying to get certain Once a Thief episodes onto significantly fewer dvds, assemble the other things I promised people, and the mission for next year must be to get some vids done - two reasons for that, one being to try and cut into the overwhelming amount of SG:A and Supernatural vids being played, and the second being to compete with moonlettuce's threatened planned Tyler/El Blanco vids because really... you know she will!

I'd vid but I have no idea how to go about it. What do you need? In terms of software that is not insanity. ;-)
