This year's television offerings so far (there may be spoilers in comments, so proceed with care if you worry about that sort of thing):

House - yes. Though it needs more Wilson.

Heroes - oh yes, but just so much potential for being buggered up royally (and not in the good steamy man-on-man action way). And Hiro is already my favourite.

Numb3rs - oh god, yes! For so many reasons, many of which are cited here.

Boston Legal - all kinds of yes. Alan, you are so bad. Heh heh.

Jericho - sorry, got bored in episode 2.

Studio 60 - yes, but I liked it better when they were called Dan and Casey, and the dark-haired one was Josh Charles not Matthew Perry (and is it just me, or has he had a rough couple of years lately, because he looks like he should sleep for a month!).

Veronica Mars - yes, oh yes. Hooked already. Even New Guy is amusing rather than annoying and this year does Logan...? Oops, said no spoilers, didn't I? ;)

Dexter - yes, probably. We'll see if I make it through episode 2 but Michael C. Hall is hot. ;)

Agree? Disagree? Think I'm talking out of my arse?

House - I'm one of the five people who don't watch this show.

Heroes - Bang on, though they spent too much time on the cheerleader and stripper in episode two for my liking. And they could screw it up big time.

Numb3rs - Missed the second episode, but liked the first part.

Boston Legal - Only watch intermittently.

Jerico - Got bored in the first episode.

Studio 60 - Haven't watched it, but yes, Matthew Perry is not aging well. At all.

Veronica Mars - See House comment above.

Dexter - Can't say, because I've never heard of it.

Oh, episode 2 of Numb3rs was even better than the premiere! Except that it didn't have that cool scene with Charlie and Larry and the bed of nails, which takes some beating. ;)

Dexter is on Showtime on Sunday, and it's about a forensics guy who happens to be a serial killer who kills serial killers. It's very much told from his point of view and is quite interesting, though it's not clear where they're going to go with it.

I like Numb3rs well enough, but have to admit that it tends to feel like it builds up anticipation and then fizzles. I wish I hadn't missed the second part, though.

House - Yep agreed needs more Wilson and less Cameron ;-)

Heroes - Oh yeah agreed on all points

Numb3rs - I'm still jumping for joy can't wait to see the rest of the season if it's like the first 2 episodes

Boston Legal - YAY! Alan is so bad ;-)

Jericho - Got bored in the first episode

Studio 60 - Agreed still liking it even though I can't stand the 2 main women. The women were much better in Sports Night ;-)

Veronica Mars - WooHoo!

Dexter - Missed it but will catch it when it comes on TMN on demand

So the only one we don't agree on is Supernatural :-(

I could go for more Wilson and no Cameron, and I'm sure that would work for you too! ;)

And meanwhile, can you believe Logan? Is he going to be all grown-up this season? And where's Weevil? *ponders*

Yep that would work :-)

Somehow I don't think that Logan is going to stay grown up, heck he's already skipping classes and I'm sure Weevil will show up, or maybe I'm just hoping :-)

Weevil's in the credits, so there's still time. Clearly they still don't have sufficient budget to have all the actors in the same episode! ;)

Seems that way ;-) Well as long as Weevil shows up soon, all will be fine :-)

I'm very curious about Dexter. Only problem is that I think I need to dl it. Not sure how to go about that. :)

To be honest? Have never figured that out. :(

Basically, all you need is a program like Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/) and a source for torrents like Mininova (http://www.mininova.org/) - it's quite simple really, since all you do is find something you want to download and then while you're downloading the file(s), you're also uploading them for other people.

There's an FAQ site here (http://www.dessent.net/btfaq/), in case you feel you need to know more than that... ;)

Definitely needs more Wilson. MUCH more Wilson. They need to move in together again, IMNSHO.

In a LOFT APARTMENT.

Loft = Teh Gay. Just ask folks in "Sentinel" fandom.

With all the pigtail pulling that was going on last time (and nobody can tell me that's not what House's antics were!), Wilson would rather chew his own leg off.

House - zzzzz not even Hugh Laurie can entice me on this one.

Heroes - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Numb3rs - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Boston Legal - I forget when it's on, but I think Shatner and Spader are funny

Jericho - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Studio 60 - spork

Veronica Mars - zzzzzzz

Dexter - maybe... maybe... I'd like to see him go to Las Vegas and bend Gil over a desk... That would be enticing.

OTOH

QI!!! yay Alan Davies/Stephen Frye slash all over the place... (and hopefully more John Sessions)

Midsomer Murders! I'd eat John Nettles with a spoon. I don't give a crap how stupid they are and they are stupid.

Oh, I forget, you're the woman with no taste in television! :P

Dexter and Gil, obsessive-compulsive neatfreaks together? You know, that would really work... except for the part where Dexter has no sexdrive, or at least nothing that isn't going to be terminal for his partner. ;)

From: [identity profile] blktauna.livejournal.com
I have more taste than you in tv... :P

And despite what the writers are trying to do...
Gil doesn't really have any sex drive either.

I think they'd be rather delightful trying to figure out what to do with those odd urges ;)

Huh. Considering I haven't seen the show so know nothing really of the character outside of what I've read in interviews, it's sa very interesting image. :)

Forgetting your actual post (though I have to say ditto on House, Jericho and Studio 60, and I could snap the neck of the programmer of the Canadian station showing Veronica Mars like a twig for deciding it was okay to skip the last 4 eps of season 2 and jump straight into season 3) can I just say I now totally get your icon.

We've finally been getting ReGenesis here on free TV, and I've finally had a chance to watch it and it's definitely in the realm of OMG I love this show. Foul mouthed scientists! Not dumbed down plots! Peter Outerbridge! Yay!

That is all.

Really? Because the fact that the season is a story arc means that naturally nobody wants to know what the hell was going on with the bus crash or that Beaver is a crazy person or anything. Why would they? *headdesk*

As for Regenesis, snarky scientists are love. ;) Sadly we have to wait till March to find out what happens next. But as you can tell, I'm big with the Bob love...

You may not love me anymore after you read this.

House - I know everyone loves this- don't care.

Heroes - oh YES! I am totally hooked on this, and totally need popcorn to watch it. And Isaac the procognative heroin addict is already my favourite. What does that say about me? Or my irrational desire to already see Isaac/Peter slash? Plus- Niki's mirror self (or whatever) kills people? That is a COOL superpower.

Numb3rs - don't care.

Boston Legal - Alan is the naughtiest naughtie who ever naughtied. He is my hero.

Jericho -I missed most of episode 1, and all of episode 2. I saw episode 3 tonight, and it looked like they were ramping up the intensity. I am holding back judgement until I see more.

Studio 60 - I liked it better when they were called Dan and Casey //snaps fingers// YES, that's where I know those guys. I tried this and I know it's smart, but in the end- they are just making a comedy skit show, why should I care? And poor Matthew Perry- I would recommend he try Nytal, but hey . . . drugs are what gave him that look in the first place.

From: [identity profile] graculus.livejournal.com
And I thought you were going to be controversial... pfft. I'm glad to hear you share the Alan love, though. :)

As for Studio 60, alas it's not that smart. Or at least not as smart as it thinks it is. My money's on cancellation by episode 6, despite the power of Sorkin. Also why are all the women on the show incredibly annoying stick insects? Perry's character (which one is he again? yes, I'm really invested...) must have been on serious drugs to hook up with thinks-she's-funny girl, who I would slap silly for the fun of it.

I agree with you 100 percent about Heroes. I'm loving this show and Hiro, well he is just too awesome for words. What a great character- so joyful and fun. I heart him.

I'm loving Dexter, too. Michael C. Hall is indeed the hot.

I've occasionally watched House only because I adore Hugh Laurie and he is totally the reason to watch it, imo. However, I am unable to watch medical shows. I am a nurse and I can never willingly suspend my disbelief. It makes watching any medical drama completely impossible.

I watched one episode of Veronica Mars because everyone loves that show, but I couldn't get into it.

I've never seen any of the other programs, though a colleague at work has been trying to convince me to watch Boston Legal- with two recs I feel I should give it a try....

Welcome back, particularly as you're agreeing with me! I was surprised by how much I'm enjoying both Heroes and Dexter, especially as this year's new offerings didn't look too promising and only Heroes has survived from the couple of shows on my watchlist. Studio 60 has now bitten the dust...

The thing about Veronica Mars is that it's episodic - you really have to watch the episodes in order from the beginning of the season. Unusual in a modern-day tv show and also not conducive to casual 'dipping in'.

And Boston Legal is just excellent. But then I've always been a slut for Spader. ;)

Lol, thanks, I think. ;-)

RE: Veronica Mars- yeah I thought that was the case. I assume the first season is out on DVD? I could rent it or something. If I ever find the time. Like I need more TV shows to watch.

RE: Boston Legal- I love Spader and the Shatman. I oughtta watch that show. And I totally love your icon!

The first two seasons of Veronica Mars are out on dvd, but I'm sure it'll be turning up in syndication at some point too...

And I've never been a big fan of Shatner but he's utterly fab in Boston Legal, so he's won me over!
