graculus: (It's all Cyc's fault)

I had a meeting in town and decided to pop into Subway and get my lunch at about 11.30am, thinking I'd beat the rush - wandered in and I was the only person in there, and this is how my subsequent conversation went:

Me: It's quiet in here.
Subway Guy: It's better like this, because when we're busy I can hardly hear myself think.

**The piped music changes to the nauseating strains of 'Together We Are Beautiful' by Fern Kinney**

Me: The only problem with it being quiet is that you have to put up with this sucky music.
Subway Guy: That's my ipod.
Me: Oh.
Subway Guy: It's on random and I have over three thousand tracks on there.
Me: *thinks* Wow, do all of them suck quite as badly?

A side note: has number of music tracks become the new equivalent to guys whipping out their dicks to see who's got the longest? ;)

And who's IPOD can has the largest gigabytage, and who's IPOD has the most gadgets but was the least expensive...

That's traditional guy behaviour anyway, isn't it? ;)

Ooopsie!

It *does* sound like a "who's got the biggest XXXX" contest, doesn't it?

And you called it "sucky"? ROFL!

Would I have done so if I'd realised the music was his choice? *thinks* Probably not, but that doesn't make me wrong... ;)

lol!

I suspect maybe. Or perhaps he was just trying to justify having a sucky song. Like, "Yeah, I download and add tracks to my playlist indiscriminately. So a few bad ones are in here."

But you still have to exercise some discrimination in there, don't you? I mean, soon it'll be possible to have mp3 players with even more enormous hard drives but that's no excuse for hoovering up suckiness...

Personally, while I've accumulated a lot of tracks, I tend to go through and wince at them every so often and what I do then is delete those. ;)

But then when he goes to impress the girls with the huge size of his....mp3 list, it won't be so impressively big!

Oh perfect! ROFLOL! I love those 'insert foot in mouth moments', at least when they're not happening to me. *G*

Oh, the worst part of it was that still after this he was trying to schmooze me and I'm sending out 'back off, matey' signals furiously.

I never bother to try and backpedal when I do something like that, it's too much like hard work... ;)
