Apr. 28th, 2007 11:20 amIt's really been one of those weeks. After feeling absurdly pleased with myself for finishing the novel, work has been crazily busy for one reason or another - on the positive side, the lead solicitor is back at work, but that means I need to make sure she's caught up on everything. Meanwhile, certain members of the rank and file are exhibiting the same strong grasp on reality and common sense as always... in other words, very little. I mean, please, if I send you a file back with comments on it, then please don't submit the uncorrected version to our legal people, thanks so much.
Ever had one of those conversations you can't get out of? I was talking to a certain member of staff I mentally refer to as Eeyore (life is so hard, heavy sigh, you're oppressing me by trying to get me to do my job, heavy sigh), who told me she's leaving early next week, and no matter how hard I tried to impress on her that maybe the work she's been doing that involves paperwork going to court ought to come first, I just found I was digging myself into a deeper hole. So I gave up, though she did whine at her manager about me afterwards that I was mean to her, not that the manager paid much attention to this other than a cursory 'you understand I have to speak to you about the fact she's whined at me, don't you?' conversation. Fortunately I think I should be out of the office sufficiently to avoid Eeyore completely between now and when she goes.
In other news, I finally caught up with all the lovely stuff that has fallen off the internet truck onto my computer in recent weeks, so here goes:
( Heroes... '.07% )
( Raines - general spoilers )
( Regenesis, season 3 )
( Boston Legal )
( Blood Ties )
E.T.A. And let me just take a moment to pimp a little show called Psych to my fellow Brits who have access to cable/satellite. It's an entertaining show about a guy who has incredible powers of observation and uses them to pretend to be a psychic, in order to get involved with the police. It's showing in the UK on Hallmark (153 on Sky) and the pilot episode is airing again on Sunday at 8pm. The show has been renewed for a second season and already this season's episodes have Shawn and his sidekick Gus (who make such a cute couple, particularly since neither of them have much shame) getting involved in all sorts of scenarios - a comic convention, Civil War re-enactment, spelling bees, speed dating events... It's one of those popcorn shows and we all need that sometimes, don't we? ;)
