Oct. 11th, 2006 11:43 amSo, I put my post-con washing out yesterday afternoon, didn't bother to get it in before I went to bed and now it's monsoon season out there. *sighs* After some nice days, it's just typical that when I'm still not back at work, the weather is like this.
I've had to uninstall and reinstall my videoconvert software, which now seems to be working instead of making my antivirus software have conniptions. This means I can finally get around to trying to figure out how to rip from home-made dvd to make 350mb avi files for the lovely people at
cdntvonthedl. It's a public service, since the show in question (Once a Thief) is mostly not commercially available (though god knows why that is, considering some of the drek that is) and while I'm going to be happily doing some dvd sets for people, I need to share the wealth further afield. ;)
Also, I have to say that having finally sat down to watch a couple of episodes over the weekend, I'm amazed to see what the show is supposed to look like in comparison to the NTSC-video-translated-to-PAL-and-then-copied look. Yes,
obelix, I will be remastering those vids now and happily so! At least if I can get those done, that'll be at least one for next year's
connotations vid show.
This week's other tasks, apart from taking Lily to the vet tomorrow, include doing some more work on my story outline for NaNoWriMo, putting some stuff up on Ebay when I've done the (now much more tricky) postage calculations and hopefully finishing another SG-1 story that I'm partway through. Oh, and final edits on 'The Night of Recollection', which will be in print soon! :) Still, I guess if it's ark-building weather that makes me more inclined to get on with that than gadding around in shops...
