(no subject)

This weekend, the main task at hand is to get my Wild Wild West story done. Considering it's only at just over 3,000 words at the moment, it's likely to take a while... E.T.A. however, it seems I may have missed the deadline anyway because I thought it was the end of the month but apparently it was September 6th!? :(

Oh, and I need to remember that I'm getting my hair cut this afternoon.

I'm feeling moderately guilty about the idea of palming Lily off on someone a couple of days after she will have had surgery, but the alternative is her waiting for yet another week till I get back from connotations, so I think I've made the right decision.

I'm now considering taking that whole week off work; I was planning to work Monday-Wednesday but am now not going to be at work on the Tuesday, so it seems a bit daft to work the Monday and the Wednesday when I have enough leave days not to. Also is it likely I'm going to want to go to work when I'll be worrying about Lily the following day? Considering last time she was poorly, I need to sort that out when I get back to work next week.

Oh, and I went clothes shopping yesterday before the vet appointment. Anyone who knows me will know that this is a rare occurrence and I swear it gets worse every time. I did see a couple of suits I liked, and actually bought a charcoal grey wool knee-length coat (my only purchase!), but discovered the old problem - I have broad shoulders and long arms, which mean I have to have large size jackets and still often the arms don't reach to my wrists. Also, where are the human being clothes? ;)

Season premieres, not so bad...

After this week's Boston Legal premiere ( Spoilers )

I was also waiting for the season premier of Numb3rs with some anticipation.

Those people who've been watching the show in previous seasons will know it hasn't always been plain sailing, with a main character change relatively early in season 1, with Sabrina Lloyd leaving and Diane Farr joining in season 2. I'd really liked Sabrina playing Terry (apparently more than she did!) and I hated Diane's character in Rescue Me and made no secret of the fact that I was concerned about her coming onto the show.

However as season 2 went on, Megan really grew on me and I also enjoyed the way she has slotted into the relationships between the characters. In fact, the whole show is heavy on the ensemble and though it's kind of unlikely that the boundaries between Charlie's work and home and Don's work would be quite as blurred as portrayed here, I like the cross-connections between all three.

I have to say I was pretty pleased with the season 3 premiere, ( more spoilers )

Must do something about getting a Numb3rs icon, but I haven't seen one I like and haven't got around to making any myself...
