Yep, it's long gone. God knows what particular corner of the house the kids have stashed it in (I've searched the usual places, under the spare bed and at the back of my closet, but to no avail) - I must have knocked it onto the floor yesterday and now I can't find it anywhere. [Note to anyone without ferret experience: if something disappears it is always them, even if you can't see how they could possibly have got to whatever is missing]
Meanwhile, can I just say that I am completely disorientated by having 2 weeks off and not going somewhere? Usually when I have more than a couple of days off it's because I'm planning to jump on a plane so I think this is the first time in years I've actually been home for more than a week and done bugger all. Literally, other than eating, drinking, cleaning out the kids, and walking to the local store for milk and ferret food. There's been precious little on tv I've wanted to watch and most of my time has been spent playing with gadgets or planning which gadget comes next (the top contender at the moment is a wireless adsl modem router, in case anyone was wondering...).
I love my mp3 player, btw. It should come as no suprise to anyone that it has more than lived up to all my expectations on it, while I'm pleased to say that it continues to play despite me dropping it 3 feet onto the bathroom floor about 2 hours after it came out of the box.
And then there's ebay. It's a place of ultimate evil, that's for certain. What has me puzzled, though, is this: why are people buying boxed sets of Stargate dvds for more than both Amazon (£21.99 at the moment, iirc) and play.com are selling them (both with free shipping)? Seems counterproductive to me...
More to come, I'm sure...
