It's all good! :)
Jun. 14th, 2006 06:14 pmAfter my derogatory comments to various people about 'pigeon post' where buying stuff from Amazon is concerned (that's the US version, not the UK one to which I have basically sold my soul), I came home from work just now to discover a card saying the postie had tried to deliver a parcel. And since I'm not expecting anything else, it can only be my Wild Wild West dvds! EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Of course, the downside is now I have to arrange for re-delivery on Saturday since it's a pain in the arse to try and get into town to pick them up, now the local office closes at 6pm. But still, EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
I was also worrying that I wouldn't get to see the new Jet Li movie, 'Fearless' without significant effort on my part when it opens here on June 23rd, but this morning a bus went past my house with a big advert for the film on it. This is a hopeful sign!
Oh, and one of my stories was on
crack_van yesterday. *boggles delightedly*

Date: 2006-06-14 06:29 pm (UTC)Also, none of the couriers seem to work on Saturdays any more - not even for us to go down to their offices and collect things ourselves - plus they rarely bother to leave cards or try the neighbours, but either leave the parcel propped against the door or return it to sender as undeliverable.
It's weird that with so much shopping being done online these days that the delivery services are so poor. :(
