E.T.A. that the wonder of the internet allows me to be completely antisocial, not to mention misanthropic, and buy a new fridge at 10.20pm. Of course, no bugger will deliver till the weekend, but it's the thought that counts...

Date: 2006-06-13 07:25 pm (UTC)And you don't have to traipse around stores running the gauntlet of salesmen trying to sell you something that isn't what you want. Long, long ago I discovered the joys of mailorder for craft materials, books, CDs, clothes that fit me etc - the internet is even better because it tells you if they've got the stuff in stock. The week before last one of the websites I use played up and I resorted to the old fashioned filling in an order form and posting it - doesn't have quite the same feeling as pressing buttons and confirmation that they have your order.
