Joy! The first draft of the tealc_ficathon story is done, all 7,852 words of it. :)

There's something so pleasing about finishing stuff off, even if it didn't quite go where you expected it to as it went from the usual omg!angst! and suddenly took a left turn into Smutsville. Oh well!

Not sure what to tackle next, though I've made good progress into my Man from UNCLE amnesia story, but I have a couple of final-story-in-the-series that I ought to have a crack at as well. Oddly enough, I was talking about this very thing with xochiquetzl earlier today and I admitted then I don't have many SG-1 ideas percolating and those I do have are ones that have been around for a while.

It's odd, really - I've been writing pretty much the same four fandoms for the past five years or so and don't see much sign of anything coming in and taking over (I'm watching a bunch of shows I like but none of them make me want to write), but it's quite possible that the SG-1 inspiration will just dwindle off. It's hard to watch earlier episodes and know how badly some things turn out later on and that's all but impossible to ignore completely. I'd also like to write more Magnificent 7 but don't seem to be able to come up with a coherent idea at all for that fandom. Hmmm.

That's exactly how I feel. I wish I could be like some of my friends who are able to ignore what comes later or even just ignore select bits of the show that they don't like. I can't do that. *g*

That'll teach us to get involved with a live fandom - the other three fandoms I write in, the episodes are all done so there's minimal chance of further messing with anything. Sure there are dumb things at times but there's nothing major waiting in the wings to ambush you later on.

I guess it's just the whole thing about how good a show it could have been and how many oddball decisions were made to push particular agendas, to the detriment of the overall product. *sigh*
