graculus: (It's all Cyc's fault)

To break the pattern of the past couple of days, I thought I'd post about stuff that isn't all about Lily and her unimpressive bowel movements. So, here's a few random things:

1. On the way home from work, I passed a car transporter and on the top deck of it was a Barbie pink Nissan Micra. Clearly this was ordered by someone who has neither shame or taste.

2. About 20 minutes ago there was a bang, but I didn't think anything of it. Then I heard sirens and when I looked out of the window it appeared that something is burning in one of the gardens of the houses almost opposite. Alas, I cannot be bothered to go and see if there are any cute firemen out there.

3. Apparently the next lot of strike days may be called off, since some progress has been made in talks with the government.

4. Thanks to the lovely service provided by Amazon, I currently have the dvds for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and My Neighbor Totoro waiting for the long weekend. :)

5. I have lots of new HP fic to read, including my long-awaited chance to read the latest Snape/Lupin by [livejournal.com profile] musigneus before she went over to the Dark (yet shiny!) Side, and now am just waiting for a couple of other people to finish their WiPs.

More on Lily's bowel movements later... ;)

#1 - *shivers uncontrollably in horror*

and

#2 - You didn't check out the firemen????? Having said that, chances are there weren't any cute ones based on experience.

Yes, the pink monstrosity... yeuch. To think that someone obviously had the money to order that specially and wanted it that shade. I mean, I like most colours in cars but I draw a line at that, my neighbour's bright yellow thing and that shade of orange beloved by Derbyshire County Council and used on all their vehicles. Shouldn't be allowed.

There's not that many cute firemen around here and it would have involved getting out of my jammies by that point... ;)

I've seen those SG1 and Due South and PotC etc. recs of yours, you know; I'm pretty sure you know all about dark but shiny sides! ;) Besides, there's lots of Snape in Smoke to console you. (I hope you enjoy it when you get to it.)

I was glad to hear Lily seems to be feeling better.

Hey, at least when I get into a fandom I add it on to the existing madness... Besides, those don't count since I've historically just crept into other fandoms to write and then go back periodically to all of them, so it's hardly the same as the bloodsucking force that is SG:A. ;)

And yes, she does seem to be better, though she's still a weedy thing compared to normal. No talk about bowel movements here, though!

Hmm. You know, it occurs to me that all I need to do is somehow get you sucked into SGA... ;)

That thudding noise you just heard was me hitting the floor after laughing so hard I fell off my chair. ;)

I learned a while back to never say never where fandom is concerned, but this? Not. Going. To. Happen.
