You know, I have a pretty good idea what the entries on here are going to be about for at least the next few days, so if anyone wants to ignore me completely, please feel free to do so...

Anyway, I put Lily back in with the boys to sleep this morning at about 2.30am since it was quite cold last night and I didn't think that would do her any good. I went to bed and woke up again about 7.30am, got her to drink some water and then put her back on her own. She's just had another dose of kaogel and antibiotics mixed with electrolyte and I'm leaving her for a bit before I try and get her to take some food, since I'm pretty sure she hasn't eaten anything since some time Friday.

At least she's not any worse, as far as I can see, so I'm hanging onto that as a good sign. *crosses fingers* Though it's painful to see how poorly she is in comparison to the bouncing thuggish bundles of life that are the boys.

At least she's got you looking after her and she's getting electrolytes and water and stuff.

Hope she improves soon.

She's decidedly unimpressed with me at the moment, since I've been force-feeding her and that's not a pleasant experience for either of us. Off to the vets again tomorrow, so we'll see what they have to say...

Good vibes coming your way for Lily and you.

Fingers are crossed. It is awful to see animals suffering, especially as they can't tell us how they feel.

Thanks for the vibes - she's unimpressed with me at the moment, but I guess force-feeding will do that to you! ;)

I really hope she perks up with the treatment - do you know what it is? Gut infection?

Hate it when they're sick. This is #2 or #3 on the list of 729,506,298 reasons I'm never having kids.

It's definitely something intestinal - could be an infection, could be ulceritis, could be a blockage. At least she seems to be perking up a little, though it's just miserable for her (and not much better for me!). ;)

Aw, poor girl. I wish her a speedy recovery.

I guess holding her own is a good sign. From how fast you jumped on this, I gather ferrets have delicate health? That's got to be tough as they are so robust at other times. Good luck with her.

Ferrets have a fast digestive system, so they're very susceptible to dehydration and that's the main problem with this diarrhoea Lily's got, that she's not taking in enough food or liquids of her own accord to keep her system going.

She does seem to have perked up a bit, but it's still too early to tell.
