I know this will entertain [livejournal.com profile] blktauna and [livejournal.com profile] sidewinder for certain, so anyone else is free to ignore this post - though I recall talking to someone or other at the last [livejournal.com profile] connotations con about Stephen Chow in his paper bowtie, so if you're reading this... ;)

The paper outfit:

Don't they make a pretty couple? ;)

Don't ask. Really.

Owww.

For [livejournal.com profile] blktauna - the money shot! :P

What's the expression? Doesn't know the meaning of the word 'shame'? ;)

BTW, I keep meaning to ask which movie that pic from your icon comes from....

Oh cripes, I'm ashamed to admit I can't recall at the moment...as much as I love his movies they all tend to blur together in a mass of insanity in my brain...

That's completely understandable since (not having seen all of them yet) apart from a couple of the later movies, the rest are either 'historical topknot movies' or 'modernday trickster', aren't they?

Why what? Why is Stephen wearing a paper bowtie and loincloth? Why is his groin on fire? Why does he have the longest tongue known to mankind? ;)

Well, in this movie (A Chinese Odyssey Part 1) he's a bandit (who's actually a reincarnation of the Monkey King, but let's not get into that part of the storyline for now...) and he's trying to deal with two female demons. The paper stuff that he and his men are wearing are charms to make them invisible from the demons and since he's a rather inept bandit, of course his outfit catches fire. Three times. ;)
