You know, I was pondering setting up a recs journal, but it seems like all the cool kids have already done that and who really needs loads of HP recs anyway (because we all know that's what it'll mostly be, if the current state of play is anything to go by)?

Please feel free to persuade me otherwise, if you feel so inclined, and maybe I'll bow to peer pressure after all. ;)

Well, I already have 6 pages of recs here (http://www.btinternet.com/~graculus/recs.html) (though I'm not sure our tastes coincide in much) but that thing you're suggesting looks complicated... ;)

once you have it settled, it's actually dead easy. You go to a page, you click on a bookmarklet you already have (or the Firefox extension), mark up the tags (i.e. the categories/warnings/pairings/whatever) you want to associate it with, and you're done.

I've done it here (http://del.icio.us/dymphna/). Mine's a bit generic, because I've been reading, y'know, everything.

I'm not overly keen on the one-word tag thing, I have to say... seems a bit restrictive. Maybe I just like categorising stuff too much? ;)

I do, cause it's totally all about me. The voice in my head say so. Really they do. While your 6 pages are incredibly useful, a recs journal is more immediate and possibly easier to update. I'm not explaining it well, but please, go for it!

Oh, this would be as well as the recs page, not instead of. Because really it's quite easy to slap the same code I'm using to update the recs pages into a journal post and thus gain immediate gratification. ;)

I enjoy your recs, but whether I find them here, on hp for grownups, your site, or a new recs journal doesn't make much difference to me. So I vote for whatever's easier and results in the most recs. ;)

I expect the only difference would be that by having my own recs journal, I'd put them up as and when I come across stuff rather than waiting for a bunch to spam post to hp_for_grownups or my site.

But that might be enough to keep people happy, who knows? Meanwhile, don't you have a WiP to finish? ;)
