Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] tryfanstone:

Name a CD you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
Salutation Road by Martin Stephenson and the Daintees

Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
A signed copy of Pat Barker's Regeneration trilogy probably wins, but other than that how about Gay New York: Gender, Urban Culture, and the Making of the Gay Male World, 1890-1940 by George Chauncey?

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
Best bet is probably my video of the BBC adaptation of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall but if we're talking proper movies then let's try two Chow Yun Fat Hollywood outings: The Corruptor and The Replacement Killers... Okay, how about the Branagh version of Henry V? How about the Powell and Pressburger movie A Matter of Life and Death?

Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
Cape Clear Island. A lovely little place off the coast of County Cork, next stop Fastnet lighthouse.

Name a piece of technology or any sort of tool you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
Does a purple Creative Zen Micro mp3 player count? ;)

Pat Barker

I can safely say that as far as I go you are quite safe :-) I own/have visited none of the above. Cape Clear Island looks beautiful.

It's a lovely place - one of those laidback islands (of which Ireland has more than its share, I think) where there's no police presence and so the pub stays open till they get bored or everyone stops drinking, which usually happened around 4am when I was there.

Oddly enough, what with that and the Guinness/Murphy's, I never have any trouble sleeping when I go to Ireland... ;)

I have The Replacement Killers!! I put it in and watch the opening over and over and over again. :D

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by The Replacement Killers since I didn't really expect much - the opening is a nice rip-off homage to John Woo.

Oh, and I highly recommend The Corruptor if you haven't seen it - very slashy!

Okay, how about the Branagh version of Henry V?

Not only do I own this in VHS and DVD formats, but I've got the poster hanging in my stairwell. (What can I say, it's one of my all-time fave plays by Shakespeare.)

Heh. You picked a movie I adore, but do not, as yet, own.

I was led astray by a nice boxed set comprising that, The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp and I Know Where I'm Going, all favourites of mine... ;)

We've got the Criterion edition of Blimp, or I would have picked up that box too.
