Jan. 23rd, 2006 07:18 pmI tried, really I did. But the combination of my current poor attention span and the fact that the character I always liked most just hasn't arrived on the scene and won't do for another couple of seasons, meant I couldn't get back into Due South now ITV3 are airing it here on weeknights.
*braces herself for being run out on a rail by various of her friends list*
Meanwhile, on a brighter note, I'm pleased to say I'm now all caught up with Battlestar Galactica and have also seen the tv highlight of last week: Denny and Alan dancing together on Boston Legal. What a pair. Other things about the show may make me cringe from time to time, but those two... *sighs happily*
On the work front, I'm pleased to say the badgering of me by managers has stopped. Apparently the penny has finally dropped to the idea that if I wanted to be a manager, I could have gone for a suitable post and I have every confidence I would have got it. I'm not labouring under some misconception about my own abilities, it's simply that I do not feel that managers in local government get paid in accordance with the BS they have to deal with. Neither does anyone, most of the time, but managers doubly so.
I've been watching that meme going round with some amusement, the writing one where you list the top 10 pointers that you're reading a story by whoever - I keep getting stuck on this:
1. It has the name 'Graculus' right there at the top, where you can't miss it... ;)

Date: 2006-01-23 08:06 pm (UTC)The writing meme is interesting, and I love your #1. Says it all, really. I've thought a few minutes about it, but it requires analyzing my work...but perhaps I'm being too serious about it.

Date: 2006-01-23 08:10 pm (UTC)I like the idea of the meme but I never was one for navel-gazing. I know I went through a phase of writing a spate of stories where character X is not who he appears to be a while back, but I'd like to think (and would probably be wrong to assume) that I'm not quite as predictable as all that. I did get a little further than my #1, but once I'd gone past 'unlikely to have penetrative sex' and 'heavy on the plot', I started to dry up...
